Getting Started


If you are new to Cobham Pilates, depending on your level of experience and how you would like to begin, we have a few ways for you to get started!

If you are a TOTAL Beginner, we suggest you start with a private lesson to get an idea of what Pilates can offer you, to try both the Mat and Reformer and other studio equipment, and to decide the way forward with your teacher.

The exception to this is that we offer 6-Week Beginner Reformer courses that are designed for total beginners. These 6-week blocks have set start dates and run for 6 consecutive weeks. They normally start at the beginning of each school term and again directly after the half term breaks. This 6-week course has a special Introductory Offer of £150 for the full 6-week block. If you have prior experience in group Pilates classes – either Mat or Reformer – then you can book into your first class via the Cobham Pilates APP (link below). We request that you please read the descriptions of the levels and book into the level that is appropriate for your experience and ability.

If you have an injury or a condition that limits your movement, then you need to book an introductory private lesson to be assessed in order to determine the best route for your Pilates journey. We can work with almost any injury or condition in a private lesson setting. Private lessons are arranged via email.

In all cases, it is usually best if you get in touch either via email or by phone so we may chat through your situation and find the best way forward for you!

Please note that Cobham Pilates is a very inclusive studio, we have clients from 12 – 85 years old, men (lots of them!) and women. Our clients’ abilities range from the extremely injured to the professional athlete, and everything in between.
